Working requirements and Heat treatment process of Heat-resistant Castings

Heat-resistant castings mainly refer to the development of steel and heat-resistant castings working at high temperature, which are closely related to the technical progress of power stations, boilers, gas turbines, internal combustion engines, etc. Because of the different temperature and stress, and the environment, the types of steel used are different.


High-temperature castings can be customized according to the actual use of customer requirements, laboratory material ingredients to cast production. The main features are high temperature resistance, anti-oxidation, anti-deformation, corrosion resistance, wear resistance. The service life of general high temperature resistant castings is more than 3 years.


Heat-resistant castings are required to operate at high temperatures, so they must be able to withstand oxidation, corrosion and wear at high temperatures, which must not be possible if the material or quality of the workpiece deviates. Therefore, production should not only select high-quality materials, the workpiece after the formation of heat-treatment.


The heat treatment process of heat-resistant castings is divided into several steps: cleaning, charging, preheating, heating, cooling, cleaning and so on. Emphasis should be placed on the preheating, heating and cooling of heat-resistant steel castings, in which preheating is usually a task aimed at parts with complex shapes or sharply changing sections, in order to reduce the residual stress in the later stage.
