The impact resistance and abrasion resistance of coal wear liner

- Nov 24, 2018-

Coal mill liner can effectively improve the wear resistance when used. The most remarkable performance of improving the molecular weight polyethylene is its extremely high wear resistance, which is very valuable in many engineering applications.Of all plastics at present, the wear resistance is the best, and even many metal materials (such as carbon steel, stainless steel, bronze, etc.) are not as regular as it is.As the molecular weight of polyethylene increases, the material becomes more resistant to wear.

The extremely high impact resistance performance of the coal grinding liner is related to its ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene to a certain extent. When the molecular weight is lower than 2 million, the impact strength increases with the increase of molecular weight, reaching a peak value of about 2 million. After the peak, the impact strength will decrease with the increase of molecular weight. This is due to the fact that the molecular chain impedes its photocrystallization so that large amorphous regions exist in the macromolecules and can therefore absorb greater impact energy.

The impact resistance of high molecular weight polyethylene at room temperature is comparable to that of polycarbon ester, which is well known for its impact resistance.Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (uhmwpe) still has excellent impact resistance even at the low temperature of -40oc. Even at the liquid-gas-269oc temperature, it still has good impact resistance performance. This excellent low temperature characteristic extends the application of uhmwpe to the field of cryogenic engineering.
