Molding process and basic requirements of alloy steel castings

The basic requirements of the molding process of alloy steel castings: wood mold: the requirements are complete contour, no crack, no damage, no incomplete, smooth surface, size in accordance with the requirements of the casting process drawings, and often carry out dimensional check.Sand box: the size of sand box should be determined according to the specifications of the wooden mold, large and medium sand box should be welded bar. 

The main materials used for alloy steel castings are various kinds of carbon steel and alloy steel, followed by aluminum, copper, magnesium, titanium and their alloy metals.The initial state of forging materials is bar, ingot, metal powder and liquid metal.The ratio of the cross-sectional area of a metal material before deformation to the cross-sectional area after deformation is called the forging ratio.The correct selection of forging ratio, reasonable heating temperature and holding time, reasonable initial forging temperature and final forging temperature have great influence on improving product quality and reducing production cost.

Alloy steel casting quality mainly includes appearance quality, internal quality and service quality.Inherent quality refers to the chemical composition of casting alloy steel castings, physical properties, mechanical properties, microstructure, and exists in the casting internal hole, crack, inclusion, segregation, etc., using quality refers to the casting endurance ability to work under different conditions of alloy steel castings, including wear resistance, corrosion resistance, resistance to chilling induced fever, fatigue, shock absorption, etc as well as being cutting resistance, weldability process performance.
