Hardening ability and forming requirements of alloy steel castings

After solid solution treatment, the uniform solid solution structure can be obtained during the operation of alloy steel castings, and the workpiece is quenched from rapid cooling to lower temperature, and the saturated single-phase solid solution can be obtained. In use, it mainly improves the ductility and toughness of steel and alloy, and prepares for precipitation hardening.

When alloy steel castings are used, all kinds of phases are fully dissolved and solid solution is strengthened. Thus, the toughness and corrosion resistance of alloy steel castings can be improved to a certain extent, and the stress and softening can be eliminated during application so as to continue processing or forming.

The pearlite matrix can be obtained by normalizing and tempering heat treatment of alloy steel castings. The Cr mn pearlite wear resistant steel has good toughness, impact fatigue resistance and high work hardening ability. It also has lower production cost because it contains less expensive alloy elements and does not need complex heat treatment.

The wear resistance of wear-resistant carbon steel of alloy steel castings is mainly obtained by surface hardening. The wear resistance of carbon steel > 0.35% is usually improved by surface induction quenching or flame quenching, while low carbon steel can be improved by Carburizing, nitriding or carburizing. With the increase of hardness, the wear resistance is also enhanced.
